A soldier in black chainmail thrusts his sword at the Girl in Black. She grins, easily parrying and whipping the sword from his hands. The sword spins overhead across the battlefield and disappears into the war cries.
“You first.”
A few quick cuts, the soldier’s lifeless body falls to the ground. The Crow-Like Girl’s javelin returns to both her hands, its shining metal body reflecting off her pitch-black corset. Above her and the battlefield’s fury, the sky bleeds red.
Watch it all unfold before your eyes, you wipe off the blood of your sword—what’s left of a nameless, fallen soldier—, and straighten your clothes. You must look regal in all places, especially here. The Girl in Black wipes her javelin clean and finally notices you. Her javelin glows dark red, as if the deaths of her enemies give it bloodthirsty power. Pointing her javelin’s tips at you, The Crow marches.
In a moment of clarity, the Ascend Ceremony comes across your mind.
The Queen’s words, full of love, and the sorrow deep inside that even her perfectly beautiful face could not hide.
How could this happen?
What is this Girl in Black fighting for?
Will someone mourn her when she dies?
Will she cry or smile before her head hits the ground?
Will she be desperate or relieved facing the end of all these messes?
The wars we are forced to fight.
The enemies we’re forced to kill.
The children we damn to orphaned streets.
The hero we must be to our people, but the villain we must become to save our people and our land.
Will I… shed a tear for her?
The cries of the knights behind you bring you back.
You clench your sword as the Girl in Black sprints toward you. As the Crow soars.
